Translate RC Market
So you want to help me translating RC Market in your own language? It's not that hard. :-)
First of all, you have to install a small software to do the translation easily: Poedit (It's very safe.)
Then download this zip and open the messages.po file it contains in Poedit. If you want to work on an existing translation, download one of the zip files below instead.
Please make sure that the catalog charset (the way characters are encoded) is set to UTF-8. This makes sure the application understands what you type. :)
(You can adjust it at any time in Catalog -> Configuration.)
Configure the plural settings for your language. This is done in the Catalog -> Configuration menu. You have to copy paste some code in the plural form field.
The correct code for your language can be found on this page.
The most common code is: nplurals=2; plural=(n != 1)
Translating in itself is pretty easy. Just click on a line (bold text means untranslated) and enter the translation in the box at the bottom of the screen.
You can use Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down to go to the previous/next item.
Important:
There are some special "keywords" that you shouldn't alter in your translations. These are words that start with % or @.
For instance: %name will be replaced by someone's name, etc. So, anything that starts with % or @ and is followed by alphabetical characters or an underscore (so, a to z and _) must not be changed in the translation. The meaning of every keyword should be straightforward. The most special one is @click which will be replaced by "click here" with a link. So the "click here" is translated seperately.
Also, the * are used to mark something as bold. As in "this is *bold* text". They should also be kept in the translation.
If you have any question, just ask! ;-)
When you're done, save and send me the messages.po file back. :-)
